Forks Community Hospital (FCH) is a public hospital district of Clallam County, Washington. We are a 25-bed Critical Access Hospital, also operating Rural Health Clinics in three locations and providing a wide range of essential health services to the entire West End Community and thousands of visitors to our region each year.
Our service and dedication to the community dates to 1929, when the first hospital was built by Dr. Ulrick S. Ford, whose vision and energy eventually won the passage of the Washington Hospital District law in 1947. Clallam County Public Hospital District #1 was the first district formed in the state. Thus, Forks Community Hospital proudly claims the title “Pioneers in Rural Health Care.”
Every day, we strive to go the distance to provide excellent care so that our community does not need to travel miles for life-saving medicine and access to essential health services.

Forks Community Hospital participates in the Washington Rural Health Collaborative, which involves teamwork, forming alliances, and relationship-building through cooperation. This organization provides opportunities for these rural public hospitals to network together in information and resources. Along with Forks Community Hospital, Jefferson Healthcare, Klickitat Valley Health, Mason Health, Arbor Health, Newport Hospital and Health Services, Ocean Beach Hospital and Medical Clinics, PMH Medical Center, Skyline Hospital, Snoqualmie Valley Health, Summit Pacific, Whidbey Health, and Willapa Harbor, Cascade Medical, Coulee Medical Center, Columbia County Health System, Ferry County Health, Garfield County Hospital, Pomeroy, Harbor Regional Health, Island Health, Kittitas Valley, Lake Chelan Health, Lincoln Hospital and Clinics, Mid-Valley Hospital, Prosser Memorial Health, Pullman Regional Hospital, Skagit Regional Health, Skyline Health, Three Rivers Hospital, Whitman Hospital and Medical Clinics are all members of the Washington Rural Health Collaborative.

Forks Community Hospital successfully completed and has maintained accreditation from DNV GL – Healthcare. DNV provides quality driven accreditation and clinical excellence certifications to America’s Hospitals.
By earning accreditation, Forks Community Hospital demonstrates that it meets or exceeds patient safety standards (Conditions of Participation) set forth by the U.S. Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. DNV GL’s accreditation program is the only one to integrate the ISO 9001 Quality Management System with the Medicare Conditions of Participation.
DNV GL’s accreditation program, called NIAHO® (Integrated Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations), involves annual hospital surveys – instead of every three years – and encourages hospitals to openly share information across departments and to discover improvements in clinical workflows and safety protocols.
