During the summer of 2024, Forks Community Hospital’s single mammography unit was damaged in a power surge and could not be repaired. With the nearest imaging department over 50 miles away, access to essential healthcare became a challenge for our community members.
In response, FCH leaders arranged for a rental mammography unit, which arrived on September 27, 2024. Our priority is to provide residents with access to high-quality healthcare, including life-saving mammograms. However, while renting the unit was a short-term solution, the goal is to purchase our own, which is currently beyond our financial reach.
To address this, the Forks Hospital Foundation (FHF) is launching “Operation Mammogram,” aiming to raise $250,000 to acquire this vital technology. We invite everyone—residents and visitors alike—to consider contributing to this critical campaign. Your donation, no matter the size, can make a meaningful impact.
