Medical Technologist

The Medical technologist performs duties such as chemical, microscopic, serologic, hematological, immunohematologic, EKG’s and bacteriologic tests to provide data for the health care provider for the purpose of diagnosing, treatment, monitoring and prevention of disease. Receives specimens for laboratory tests or obtains such body materials as urine, blood, feces, pus and tissue directly from the patient. Makes quantitative and qualitative chemical analyses. Cultivates, isolates and identifies pathogenic bacteria and other microorganisms. Performs blood tests for transfusion. Records and distributes test results and maintains laboratory supplies and equipment as necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or Bachelor of Science in a chemical or biological science from a 4 year accredited college or university. NOTE: Bachelor’s degree requirement may be waived by the department manager depending on amount and type of experience held

Licensure/Credentials: Board registered with one of the national registries associated with laboratory practice (ASCP, NCA, NRCC, AAM, etc.)

Maintains a Washington State Health Care Assistant License Category A

Experience/Training: Minimum three year’s experience as a Medical Technologist in a rural hospital setting with on-call experience preferred. Previous experience with phlebotomy preferred. Previous experience with a laboratory computer system including word and excel processing required.

Physical Therapist

Administers and directs the examination, evaluation, determination of a physical therapy diagnosis, rehabilitation prognosis and procedural interventions utilized in physical medicine and rehabilitation of persons requiring Physical Therapy services following a medical screening and referral by a physician within the licensure requirements of the State of Washington.

QUALIFICATIONS: Education- Graduate of an accredited School of Physical Therapy or has certificate of successful completion from a recognized physical therapy program.

Licensure- Holds current Washington State Physical Therapist License.

Training and Experience- Familiar with all facets of Physical Therapy, as practiced as Hospital. Skilled in interpersonal communication with ability to relate well to patients, the public, hospital staff, all levels of health care providers in a clear, professional verbal and/or written manner. One (1) year clinical experience is required to perform services at off-site facility. Computer experience desirable. Membership in the American Physical Therapy Association desirable.

Registered Polysomno-graphic Technician

The polysomnographic technologist works under medical and clinical supervision to perform overnight polysomnograms, occasional day schedule for training, meetings +/operation of sleep studies. Functions independently to safely maneuver sophisticated medical equipment to record sleep/wake physiology. The application of recording devices to the patient, cleaning / sterilization of equipment and monitoring of polysomnograms are essential duties of the technologist. Polysomnographic technologists must recognize sleep pathology when it occurs in the laboratory and respond with the appropriate interventions to ensure patient safety. The technologist also performs special procedures such as ordered by the referring physician, ambulatory monitoring, and patient education.

QUALIFICATIONS: Education/Certification/Licensing/Registration-

Registered Polysomnographic Technologist. Prior training as a Respiratory Care Therapist, Polysomnography, RN, LPN or EEG Technologist preferred. High school diploma/GED or equivalent work experience required.

The Food and Nutritional Services aide performs a variety of tasks such as making salads, sandwiches, dishing up desserts, and washing dishes while maintaining cleanliness and meeting required sanitary conditions for food service equipment and kitchen area. The aide also takes care of the scheduled cleaning of refrigerator and freezer units as well as daily cleaning of kettles, carts, pots and pans, maintains supplies on Acute and LTC.

QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Ability to read, write and speak English.

Experience: Experience is desirable but not required. Training and instruction will be provided continuously on the job. Must obtain a Washington State Food and Beverage Service Workers Permit.
