The Chief Nursing Officer has 24-hour responsibility for planning, leading, organizing and orienting the personnel employed in the assigned areas of responsibility. The Chief Nursing Officer serves as a resource and support to all on-duty health care providers, support staff, patients, residents and families. The Chief Nursing Officer will assume responsibility for nursing service operations in the absence of the Administrator or Administrator’s Designee and overall operations of the Hospital in the absence of the Administrator and Assistant Administrators. The Chief Nursing Officer will be responsible for ER, Trauma, Respiratory Therapy, Nursing QM, Risk Management, Ambulance Services, EMT’s, Labor and Delivery, Nursery, Swing Bed, Nursing Education, Discharge Planning, Surgery Services, Pharmacy, Case Management and ABC Program.

EDUCATION: Graduate A.D.N. Diploma or B.S.N. School of Nursing.

Current Washington State Registered Nurse license. Successful completion of ACLS and TNCC course and current verification.

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: 1-3 years management/leadership experience in Acute Care Hospital. 1-3 years clinical experience in several specialty areas of Hospital, e.g., ER, OB.

Registered Sleep Tech/ Polysomnographic Technician

The Polysomnographic technologist works under medical and clinical supervision to perform overnight polysomnograms, occasional day schedule for training, meetings +/operation of sleep studies. Functions independently to safely maneuver sophisticated medical equipment to record sleep/wake physiology. The application of recording devices to the patient, cleaning / sterilization of equipment and monitoring of polysomnograms are essential duties of the technologist. Polysomnographic technologists must recognize sleep pathology when it occurs in the laboratory and respond with the appropriate interventions to ensure patient safety. The technologist also performs special procedures such as ordered by the referring physician, ambulatory monitoring, and patient education.

Certification/Licensing/Registration: Prior training as a Respiratory Care Therapist, Polysomnography, RN, LPN, Radiology Technologist, Lab Assistant or EEG Technologist preferred. High school diploma/GED or equivalent work experience required.

Mental Health Specialist (MHS) will be classified as qualified for the basic position and may have additional specialties as described below. These are salaried professional level positions. All MHS are responsible for providing clinical treatment services with minimal administrative functions. The MHS is under the supervision of the Director of Outreach Services, and/or coordinator of program area assigned. The MHS provides multifaceted mental health services within his/her credentialed areas of expertise. This may encompass emergency services, information and referral, individual, group and family psychotherapy, consumer support services, community education and consultation services. MHS may qualify by meeting the requirements of WAC 388-865-0150 for any of the additional specialties: children, elderly, developmental disabilities, minorities, hearing impaired, or emergency services. Qualification for any of these shall then mean that the MHS may further provide direct service or consultation to other staff in cases involving clients belonging to the special populations described above.
