Community Involvement

Hospital Volunteers

As part of the healthcare team, volunteers provide service that extends that of the clinical and support staff of the Hospital. Their presence enhances the comfort and satisfaction of patients and their families. Volunteers are particularly encouraged to contribute their time and talents in Long Term Care or to participate in community-oriented Hospital activities. Both West End Outreach and the Hospital Health Resource Center have various needs for volunteers as well. Volunteers who work in the Hospital are required to pass a background check and to receive a tuberculosis skin test every year at no cost. For more information contact:

Hospital Foundation

Forks Community Hospital Foundation is a private, non-profit, charitable organization which strives to enhance the quality of hospital care available to the citizens of the West End. The Foundation's sole purpose is to raise funds to benefit the Hospital by purchasing necessary equipment. Assets are raised in a variety of ways, including:

Donations from businesses and individuals
Memorial gifts and bequests
Funds raised by the Foundation through special benefit events
Donations from physicians and other members of the medical and professional community

All funds are channeled directly into our own local healthcare delivery system. Therefore, a gift to the Foundation is an investment in our community's future.
